AC Drain Line Maintenance (Every 2 Months)

To keep the air conditioning working properly, the drain line must be cleaned regularly to prevent algae buildup and clogging.

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY RULE
Always turn OFF both thermostats before starting. Do NOT perform this while the AC is running.

What you need:

• 1 cup of white vinegar

Steps:

1. Turn both thermostats to OFF

2. Locate the AC drain pipe cap (it has a small wire connected)

3. Carefully remove the cap

4. Slowly pour 1 cup of vinegar into the pipe

5. Wait about 5–10 minutes

6. Put the cap back securely (make sure it is fully seated)

7. Turn the thermostats back ON

Important Notes:

• The cap is part of a safety switch — it must be put back properly

• Do NOT run the AC while the cap is removed

• Pour slowly to avoid overflow

When to report an issue:
Contact management if you notice:

• Water leaking near the unit

• AC not cooling

• Vinegar not draining or backing up

• Any uncertainty about the process

Why this is needed:
The AC system produces condensation (water), which can lead to algae growth in the drain line. Vinegar helps prevent buildup and keeps the system working properly.
