A few of my favorite tips:
-If you struggle to get your hands about your head you can use the blow dry brushes below and hold them down low and lower your head and body to get dry. You can also use your diffuser on the ground while you lay on the edge of the bed or couch to avoid lifting your arms.
-Bangs and face framing are a great style option if you are unable to style your whole head. It looks cute when everything else is pulled back messy and you can always shampoo just your bangs and pull everything back to stretch out your style.
-Short hair means more frequent visits to the salon but much easier styling at home! Find a stylist who has experience in your hair texture and has photos of short cuts you like on their page. Short hair is for everyone, you just have to find an experienced stylist!
-For curly sets foams will offer must faster dry times. Ideally use a lot of hold so your set will last longer and will not get as tangly between washes. Avoid going longer than 10 days between washes because the wash will be challenging.
-Locs are an amazing option if you are unable to wash and style your own hair. Find yourself a good loctician and make sure they have experience in locs, not just braids.
-Braids can be a good option as well, but can be very overwhelming to take down and can compromise the condition of your hair if they are done with too much tension, are left in too long (ideally no longer than 6 weeks), or you wear them back to back with no breaks. Braids can be borrowed time because your hair will be dry when you take them out, causing a more challenging wash day for the following weeks. The safest and healthiest option for a protective style are simple flat twists, cornrows, or two strand twists with no hair added for 2 weeks. Opt for a faster and simpler style and leave it in for less time to avoid dryness.
