The Youngsters Cup is aimed young curlers in their first few seasons and is the club’s entry level competition. Originally this lovely silver trophy was donated by Jim Aitken back in 1979, when Gogar Park Curling Club opened. The event was called the Aitken Trophy and was a weekend event for mixed teams of 2 male and 2 female curlers. Following the closure of Gogar Park Curling Club, this event was no longer played. The trophy has been kindly gifted to Gogar Park Young Curlers by the Aitken family. Jim Aitken’s son and granddaughters were all members of Gogar Park Young Curlers. The Aitken Trophy is now presented to the winners of the Youngsters Cup event.
