It is important to this society that your gnome will be loved. Most of our gnomes have been orphaned. Many have actually witnessed their parents' deaths as they were ripped apart by predators like owls, bobcats or feral cats. Dag often finds these poor little creatures wandering the Monadnock forests dazed, cold and traumatized. Only after several weeks of gnomic therapy are we ready to put our little guys up for adoption.
For this reason we are very concerned that our gnomes end up in homes where love abounds. Not only must they have loving homes, but their new parents need to recognize that gnomes tend to be specialists, and should reside in the appropriate place. Take for example one of our recent adoptees, Snorre Venn, the toilet gnome. He is now happily homed in Hancock, New Hampshire in the bathroom of a little old lady who loves him very much.
You should carefully consider your ability to provide your new family member with love and an appropriate place to live.
Snorre Venn
You can see by his big smile just how happy he is in his new home!
If you are comfortable that you can provide an appropriate home for a gnome, look over those on our Gnomes Looking for Homes page.
