In the last 200 years, Stormreach has transformed from a pirate haven to a melting pot of interests. Draft dodgers from the various countries of Khorvaire may find a new home here, and prisoners of war have been sent to fight in the Red Ring. Warforged and refugees seek new lives for themselves. Different religions seek followers, and all of the Dragonmarked Houses are represented here, whether they seek raw ores like House Tharashk or simply do not want the other Houses to gain more influence than them. Even Aerenal and Sarlona have representatives here, though they are outnumbered by those from Khorvaire.
Those native to Xen’drik have mixed feelings about the place. The Giants of the Tents of Rusheme warn the city that it is only a matter of time before the madness takes the city again, while also taking measures to prevent annual destruction by a mythic Roc. Drow relations with Stormreach fully depends on their relationship with individuals. The existence of Stormreach benefits the sahuagin for now, but should the city become too troublesome for them, they are confident in their abilities to harness the Devourer’s power and level the city–or so they threaten.
