For the final piece of my GIS certificate from Fort Lewis College, I assisted hydrologist Dr. Melissa Clutter in improving the DRAMS (Dolores River Adaptive Management Support Project) Arc Online story map. I also helped Dr. Clutter to improve and create some existing data visualizations that were in the hydrology section of the story map.
To do this I used python, and a handy data-visualization python library called Matplotlib. This library, along with with Pandas (a data analysis library that makes dealing with .csv files a piece of cake) allowed my to create professional-quality charts, graphs, nd even an animation. This whole project was a very engaging challenge that allowed my to re-learn python, and expand my skills as a spatial analyst. If you'd like to see the DRAMS story map in action, click here
