Proposed Model

Ministries are led by the Sr. Minister, who is responsible for ensuring that they are carried out in accordance with the church's mission, vision, and values.

Ministries are divided into MInistry Areas.  Each area is led by a Ministry Coordinator, who is elected by the congregation and whose role is to support and encourage Ministry Teams in their area.

Ministry Areas are grouped into Primary Ministries and Support Ministries

Primary Ministries:

The Task Force's current recommendation is that Primary Ministries be broken up into Ministry Areas in accordance with  the church's mission statement:

BCCUCC is a Christian community that worships God (Worship), embraces all people (Welcome), ministers to one another (Congregational Care), works for justice and peace (Justice & Peace), and renders loving service to God's world (Service).

Although it is not specified in the mission statement, the Task Force believes Faith Formation is a core value of this church, therefore Faith Formation has been added as a Ministry Area.

Support Ministries:

Support Ministries are those ministries whose work must be completed to keep the church running.  The three Support Ministry Areas are Property, Finance and Administration.
