2024 Local Auditions set for Saturday, April 20, 2024 *
IN PERSON Auditions:
Circle Music Center, 5124 Poplar Ave, Memphis
Lane Music, 9309 Poplar Ave, Germantown.
Online Solo Application (available Saturday, Feb. 10, 12 NOON)
Online Ensemble Application (available Saturday, Feb. 10, 12 NOON)
*Application and Musicianship Test Deadlines:
Application submissions begin Saturday, February 10, 12 NOON and close Saturday, March 9, 2024, 11:59 pm, MIDNIGHT.
Musicianship Tests Are Required and will no longer be available online!
Teachers will choose one (1) level of four (4) of the eight tests found in the TMTA Musicianship Manual. (Instrumental and Vocal teachers should email auditionsGMMTA@gmail.com for help concerning application submission.)
The Manual is password protected. Please email auditionsGMMTA@gmail.com for the password.
Each teacher is responsible for seeing that each student completes the required tests. The tests are found in the TMTA Musicianship Manual. which is available online. Teachers who do not already have a copy of this Manuel must download it in order to make copies of the pertinent tests and study guides. Please note that students will need the study guides to prepare for the tests.

FEES:
Solos: Complete ONE application for each student
Grades K-2: $35.00 per student* (no musicianship test required).
Grades 3-12: $35.00 per students* (musiciahship test required).
Ensembles: Complete ONE application per ensemble.
All Grades: $35.00 per ensemble* (no musicianship test required).
All fees will be collected through PayPal on the application form. You may pay through your PayPal account or with a credit card.
* Non-member teachers should contact the auditionsgmmta@gmail.com for non-member teacher and student fees before submitting application.
REQUIREMENTS:
Teachers should consult the TMTA AUDITIONS SYLLABUS for ALL information regarding applications, repertoire requirements, and Musicianship tests.
Repertoire:
Please make sure the student is not playing music from composers listed in the same musical period. A list of all composers according to musical period is included. Please note there are six musical periods. Be sure to check the Composer List in your Syllabus!
Photocopies: Any student using a photocopied score will be disqualified. Students may use legitimate copies of music provided by local music stores or downloaded from such websites as musicnotes.com or sheetmusicplus.com.
Performance Time Limits: Teachers should be aware of time limits listed in the syllabus. Students may be asked to stop if their program exceeds the allowed time. Students who are stopped for exceeding their time limit will not be penalized.
Students will be entered in the following divisions.
Elementary: grades K-5, Maximum performance times:10 minutes
Middle School: grades 6-8, Maximum performance times: 15 minutes
High School: grades 9-12, Maximum performance times: 20 minutes
Musicianship Tests:
GMMTA is using the tests from the current TMTA Musicianship Manual. Teachers should consult the manual before assigning tests and levels.
Teachers who do not already have the Musicianship Manual may download it here. Please email auditionsgmmta@gmail.com to request the PASSWORD.

Judges Rating Sheet:
A Judges Rating sheet will be provided for each student the day of the auditions. Teachers no longer need to send a completed sheet with each student.
