EDTC 808: Summer Institute II

This is the second intensive seven-week summer seminar designed for Year II doctoral candidates. The course emphasizes the development of advanced skills, knowledge, and perspectives essential for effective leadership across diverse organizational contexts. It aims to deepen candidates’ commitment to transformational leadership and strategic decision-making.

EDTC 805: Cross-Discipline Studies in Technology

This course examines the identification, integration, and long-term support of advanced and emerging technologies within educational and training contexts. Emphasis is placed on how instructional and organizational leaders stay informed about technological innovations and implement them effectively. Participants will explore strategies for fostering innovation and developing interdisciplinary practices that enhance learning and organizational growth in both educational and corporate settings.

EDTC 807: Implementation and Evaluation of Curriculum

This course offers candidates a thorough exploration of how educational technology programs are developed, implemented, and assessed. It examines foundational philosophies, instructional design methodologies, and strategic planning processes that guide curriculum development in educational technology. The course also provides tools for informed decision-making and introduces evaluation techniques applicable to both educational and corporate environments.

EDTC 814: Advanced Effective Models of E-Learning

This course explores the essential concepts and strategies for assuming leadership roles in the effective integration of technology into learning environments. Key topics include strategic technology planning, leadership approaches, managing institutional change, designing high-quality eLearning experiences, and addressing policy considerations in educational technology.

EDTC 816: Advanced Building Online Communities

This course offers a foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of online interactive platforms. It addresses the effective design and application of digital tools that foster virtual communities. Coursework includes weekly readings, conceptual design drafts, evaluations of current systems, and the development of a culminating design project.

EDTC 817: Advanced Developing and Managing Distance  Learning Programs

This course focuses on the advanced design, implementation, and management of distance learning programs. Students will explore best practices for creating effective online learning environments, including instructional design, learner engagement, assessment strategies, and the use of technology tools. Emphasis is placed on leadership skills and decision-making required to develop and sustain successful distance education programs in educational and corporate settings.
