Research Process and Content--
Analyze the most recent protests in the country connected to structures of neoliberalism which can include the environment, austerity (public service and welfare cutbacks); food production and agriculture; land and property rights; migration; workers' rights, wages, and benefits; taxes, human or individual rights; media consolidation and disinformation; land and property rights; imperial wars; cost of education and student debt, etc.
Discuss causes, location, duration, size, demographic, and outcome of each protest
Discuss the links to neoliberalism: economic, political and cultural of each protest.
Check for social media activism around the protested issues and describe them including screen shots of Instagram and twitter posts, etc. Identify where they were posted and who posted them. Try to get posts from citizens or organizations in the country you are focusing on.
3. Report on two scholarly sources which provide information, theory and commentary on the protests. Use our list of scholarly source journals, the Falvey website, or Google Scholar, e.g. Search for "Protests in Afghanistan." or "Protests in China 2020."
