Children's Rosary Rally: Every harvest has a planting season and a process of cultivation that needs perseverance and endurance. Children’s Rosary rally has been our means of planting seeds of faith by bringing children and their families closer to God and to Mary. Through this amazing program, we have cultivated hope by planting a seed of faith that nurtures a child’s prayer life and spiritual well-being. This year, in a far-flung village in semi-arid Northern Kenya, the Rosary rally had the participation of children from Pre-school to Grade school. The host parish was St. Daniel Comboni, Lokori Parish in Lodwar Diocese.
And as one participant observed, this year’s program was incredibly beautiful: ‘The Marian procession today was a journey of renewal.I have no doubt that it has enhanced hope and love among the children,’ One of the Sisters testified. Based on the theme ‘Open your hearts to Christ through Mother Mary’, HCFM Kenya witnessed what words could hardly explain; the joy written on the participants' faces, the zeal that charged the walk under the scorching sun, and the determination amidst fine clouds of dust is something we are hugely grateful for to God. To us, these are a sign of an abundant harvest of hope, love, and prayer in the domestic church.
Mass Wedding: The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony promotes the Wellbeing of the Domestic church by allowing Christ to be the Centre of our families. HCFMKENYA in collaboration with the Family Life Committee at our Holy Cross Parish, has continuously nurtured this seed. In a one-of-a-kind celebration of mass weddings this year, HCFM gifted the newly wedded with a prayer mat. We encouraged them to never skip that prayer mat to sleep or from sleep. When Christ is constantly invited into families through prayer, no burden will be too hard to bear.
Holy Benediction for Families: At Holy Cross Family Ministries Kenya, the Holy Benediction for Families program happens every week. Led by alternating PPG groups, each Wednesday, Christians gather to pray for the seven gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. In this weekly program, we have witnessed families receive blessings from the Eucharistic Jesus. The number of those attending the program is swelling each day. This program has fostered an awareness of the Eucharistic presence among God’s people thus fostering a sense of shared faith and interconnectedness in their spiritual journey.
