Let's take a trip!

  1. Where should we go? What kind of vacation do you like? Are you a beach-goer or a mountain climber? Do you prefer the city or the country? Do you like adventure or relaxation? Invent the perfect vacation spot for you and your family. Fold a piece of paper in thirds and create a brochure, detailing all of the activities that you will experience. Use pictures and words.

  2. Let's pack! Take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Imagine that when you open it, you are opening your suitcase. What do you need to bring with you? Will it be warm weather or cold weather on your vacation? What activities will you be participating in? What kind of gear will you need. Think and draw carefully so that the different shapes and sizes will fit in your suitcase.

  3. Let's go! Tape together several sheets of paper to create one long sheet. Imagine the left side is the beginning of your trip and the right side is you arriving at your destination. Illustrate all the steps it will take to get there.

  4. We've arrived! Create a detailed map of your vacation spot. Show all the different places, activities, roads, buildings, and natural specifics of your imaginary destination.

  5. Share a memory. It's fun to remember a great trip and share it with others. Create a shoebox diorama/ sculpture depicting your favorite moment of your imaginary trip.
