The DEFCON (Defence Readiness Condition) represents the threat level currently facing the personnel aboard an Imperial station or planetary base.
DEFCON 5 - Regular Duties
Proceed with standard duties. Personnel should only have weapons on safety while guarding or conducting a patrol.
DEFCON 4 - Personnel on Alert
All ISB personnel should cease low-priority activities and immediately focus on investigating the cause of the DEFCON change.
DEFCON 3 & 2 - Personnel to Battlestations
All regular duties should be ceased if possible; personnel should report to their pre-assigned Battlestations and investigate any information learned during your DEFCON 4 investigation. Bureau personnel are also expected to take temporary command of any observed regiment lacking an effective Officer, ensuring troopers are effectively maintaining station security.
DEFCON 1 - Abandon Station
If aboard a ship, immediately make your way to any hangar bay or transport vessel. Once at a secure location, immediately attempt to contact Imperial reinforcements and report to a battle station as quickly as possible.
Changing DEFCON Guidelines
You can change the Defcon by using /defcon (1/2/3/4/5).
Only change the Defcon at appropriate times (Raids, Events, etc.).
Only change the Defcon when there are no Naval online who are able to do it.
You should always announce your reasoning when changing the Defcon.
As a member of the Imperial Security Bureau, even the lowest-ranking operative can wield some influence. To ensure loyalty to Emperor Palpatine, the Galactic Empire, and Senior High Command. . . ISB personnel has been granted augmented authority to:
Gather and analyze the intelligence of all enemies of the Empire.
Pursue all leads or ensure all said leads are investigated further to pacify any threats to the Empire.
Ensure ideological consistency within the Empire and loyalty of all personnel in service to the Emperor by conducting loyalty tests.
Follow up on all reports of insubordination or treachery from any Clearance Level 5 personnel or below.
Reports of High Command personnel behaving treasonously should be reported directly to Senior High Command as soon as possible.
Record encrypted footage of all activities conducted to prove claims and verify proper procedures.
To best succeed within the ISB, it is encouraged you record any official interactions as evidence to be included in your report.
All claims against a member of the Imperial High Command must be recorded.
Punish any individual that breaks Imperial procedures or the Imperial Law Ruling Handbook.
Detain any personnel with the intent to eliminate any potential or actual threats.
Detainment of personnel at the rank of Specialist (SPC) and below is not permitted. This is an effort to maintain a welcoming environment for new players.
Imperial Security Bureau personnel are encouraged to teach and guide new players when possible.
Temporarily suspend military command of their rights and responsibilities while in ISB custody.
Question personnel using traditional or experimental interrogation methods to determine guilt or establish the existence of other crimes.
Use spy tactics to covertly ascertain information on any crimes or individuals guilty of a crime.
Exercise temporary command of military personnel to ensure the effectiveness of ISB operations.
Hold prisoners for questioning and other means of intelligence gathering, and hold them for up to 10 additional minutes after questioning.
This time can be extended if they are not cooperating with roleplay. Requires permission from an ISB Junior Agent+.
Deny that suspects are being held in ISB custody to decrease the chance of interference in any ISB operation.
Ensure to inform the highest available ranking military High Command member that they are being held for classified reasons and to order troops to stop asking about the suspect.
As members of the Imperial Security Bureau, you are not required to obey the orders of Imperial High Command but are required to follow commands from Senior High Command. Despite this, if orders from High Command are reasonable, do not interfere with ongoing ISB activity, and can be justified, personnel must obey these orders. Personnel must always treat others with respect and recognize that we have the same goal as loyal servants to Emperor Palpatine and the Empire.
Imperial Security Bureau personnel may claim jurisdiction over any case that involves or brings to question the loyalty of non-ISB personnel or the Empire's security. If the Bureau claims jurisdiction over a case, all documents, evidence, and persons of interest will be transferred into ISB custody.
Battalion Loyalty Inspector
In the times of peace within the Empire’s current location, we can’t be blind on our doings. Dispatched ISB members are meant to oversee Battalions for any hints or sights of non-loyalty doings. This will lead to further notification to ISB command by either Loyalty Checks or an Interrogation / Re-Education report.
If nothing happened, dispatch is meant to send weekly reports about the situation.
Brig Security Assistance
Imperial Brig is a sector of increased risk. Dispatched ISB members would support Shock in protecting the site, assisting with the tasks, and of course doing a hidden oversight of the members. We cannot let Law Enforcement units be bribeable.
Manning Bridge Checkpoint
Heart of the Imperial Star Destroyed is one of the most important locations to be secured. Duty of the ISB would consider: maintenance checks of the equipment, Naval Cylinder codes check as well with IDs.
ISB would issue a BCP security check and will be held responsible for any breaches. This does not give priority over BCP.
Bunk Inspections
Imperial Bunks is the place where our troops live after duty. We cannot allow any contrabands or deviations from barracks standards. ISB is meant to report status via weekly reports to the ISB command.
Identification Inspections
ISB members may conduct ID check ups across the base, report back with the numbers of checks, and ratio of correct/incorrect ones.
Console Security Update
ISB would check the firmware across Bridge to ensure there was no breach in it and no one had tampered with it. Additional updates of the ISB spyware could be done to have remote access into it.
Uniform code cylinder checkup
Naval and ISB personnel are meant to wear correct cylinder codes representing their ranks and information access. Checkup would allow us to maintaining correctness around us and security across the Bridge.
This should be done to correct their uniforms, not used to punish (unless repeat intentional offense).
If the ISB has probable cause for suspicion and jurisdiction to start a case, they have the authority to investigate the case until they come to a reasonable conclusion. If personnel are directly and openly acting hostile towards Bureau staff, ISB personnel (restricted to Chief Investigator+) may assume temporary command of the minimum necessary force to neutralize the threat. (Activating Dark Trooper Units or Requesting a Death Trooper Squadron)
/comms [ISB - DT | DKT] Requesting support at <location>. ISB Jurisdiction under threat.
When aboard an Imperial station, the Imperial Security Bureau has the authority to utilize lethal force when necessary to maintain the secrecy and security of the station and its operations. Unauthorized personnel caught trespassing aboard the station will be executed on sight. Insubordinate troopers refusing to relocate while loitering outside Bureau operations will be executed after sufficient warning.
Members of the Imperial Security Bureau are advised to conduct random ID inspections and personnel inspections for contraband or rebel propaganda.
When checking ID cards, make sure to /roll once. (Note: We check the ID for false information or being inactive)
Do not check the ID of Grand Moff Tarkin+ / equivalent ranking personnel.
When checking for contraband or rebel propaganda, be creative with personnel inspections. Check their pockets, comms devices, and armor for hiding spots.
Only conduct this Test with reasonable suspicion, such as having received intel of the situation or having it seen yourself first hand.
If at any point the individual should fail, give them these options:
Be arrested for “A-05 Intoxication while on Duty”
or
Be escorted to Medbay for 3-4 minutes to sober up. After this, the Test needs to be conducted again to make sure the Trooper is indeed sober again. They can only be sent to Medbay after failing the Test once.
Using Voice Chat for the Field Sobriety Test is recommended, because Text Chat will still be clearly visible if under the influence.
Confront the suspected Trooper.
(“Have you taken any drugs?/Are you under the influence of Spice?”)
Ask if they are willing to submit to a Field Sobriety Test.
If not, either perform an arrest for “E-05 Refusal to Cooperate with Imperial authorities” or let them go. This also applies if the Trooper is non-compliant further into the Test.
If they agree, continue.
Ask them to perform the basic faces along with basic formations.
(Left Face, Right Face, About Face, Front Face)
(Single/Double Column, Advanced-/Firing Line)
Ask them to perform an Aim Accuracy Test.
(Shoot at 3-5 spots on any surface and ask them to do the same in the same order. They only get one try per mark.)
Ask them to run a short distance to determine if they are faster than usual.
(The negative effects of Spice like visual distortion last only about 2-3 minutes. The speed effect doesn’t wear off until death or arrest)
