History of Fishries Economics

This laboratory has a long history, having been established around the time the Faculty of Agriculture was founded. 

In practical terms, it was launched as the "Laboraoty of Agricultural Economics" with the appointment of Professor Manji KOIDE in January 1928.

Later, due to the incorporation of national universities, a major reorganization took place, and the laboratory became the "Laboraoty of Environmental Economics".

Then, in preparation for applying to the "国際卓越研究大学: Universities of International. Research Excellence", another major reorganization was carried out, and on April 1, 2025, it was renamed the "Laboratory of Fisheries Economics".

Because this laboratory has such a long and distinguished history, the name change was made with a heavy heart.
