The GES PTA Executive Board is a 100% volunteer organization composed of GES community members just like you!
Jen Clapp (she/her)
President
I'm a proud Greenbelt Elementary parent with daughters in 3rd and 5th grade—and one recent GES grad now navigating middle school. All of my girls started here in kindergarten (the youngest even started in Pre-K!), so after one full K–5 journey, I figured it was time to give back to the school that's given so much to us.
This is my second year serving on the PTA board, and I’m excited to help build a stronger, more diverse, and more welcoming community. My goals? Get more families involved, make sure our kids feel celebrated, and ensure our incredible teachers feel supported (and maybe occasionally caffeinated).
Outside of school, I’m a registered dietitian working with a local cardiologist here in Greenbelt. When I’m not working or parenting, you’ll find me watching a good movie, solving puzzles (both jigsaw and NYT-style), or enjoying walks on Greenbelt’s beautiful paths and wooded trails.

Hi! I am the parent of a second grader and a kindergartener at GES. I love keeping busy playing my flute, teaching art classes, and coaching UMD Student Teachers. As a former first and second grade teacher myself, I am looking forward to supporting our hard-working teachers and administration by serving on the PTA Board.
Araba Nazaire
Special Education Chair
Araba Nazaire is excited to be a PTA board member and the first ever Special Education Chair. She is honored to serve such a warm community that surrounds all of our kids in love. Araba loves to sing, dance, read, explore and play. She has an amazing husband and is mother to one wonderful boy!
For the 26-27 school year, we are holding PTA meetings on Wednesday nights. We have hybrid meetings, so that people can attend in-person in the GES media center or via zoom.
You can join the PTA at any time during the year.
If you join the PTA (see above link) you will automatically be added to the email list. If you'd like to receive emails but don't want to join the PTA, please send an email to greenbeltespta@gmail.com and we can manually add your address to our list.
You can also follow us on Facebook to stay informed of meetings, events, and school news.
The regular events are: Labor Day Book Sale, Bike/Walk to School Day, Student Middle School Transition Panel, and several appreciation events for teachers & staff. This year we will be holding some new events, including an MLK Day school grounds clean up and more.
