The following two web-based lessons follow the model suggested by Dudeney & Hockly in "How to Teach with Technology" (2007, p.37) and will be divided into three parts: warmer, web, what's next.

Level of students: young learners - 1st Form.

LESSON 1
Warmer (10 minutes)
The students will play "Bit by Bit". The teacher will hide an animal flashcard behind a large piece of paper and gradually reveal it bit by bit, asking: What animal is it? The first student to call out the correct answer is the winner and will choose the next card to show to his/her classmates. The teacher will also show the cards upside down or on their sides.
By playing this game, students will be revising vocabulary connected to animals. The teacher will also ask questions such as "What color are the cows? Are they big or small?" to focus on colors and size as well.
Web (20 minutes)
The students will watch the song video"The Animals on the Farm" on YouTube and play with the different animal sounds while they keep on revising farm animals vocabulary:
Next, the kids will play a gameshow quiz in on farm animals using Wordwall. They'll have to read the word and choose the correct picture.
After playing the game, the students will do a listening activity done on Word and conducted by the teacher. She/he will hand out the following copy for the kids to color according to what they listen to:
What's Next (10 minutes)
To round off, students will play a "Flashcard Race" . The teacher will place the animal cards on the wall around the room before the start of the lesson and then divide the class into two teams. Each team member will be given a number from 1 - 10. The teacher will ask a question such as "Number 5, where's the donkey?" The children to whom the teacher has given the number 5 must then race to find the correct card. The winner will get a point for his/her team.
LESSON TWO
Warmer (10 minutes)
The kids will play a Memotest game on ESL Games+ to revise farm domestic animals:
Web (20 minutes)
The students will watch the following video on YouTube and play "Find the Pets" with the teacher. She/He will stop the video to let the kids have a look at the scene try to find the animal required:
Then, the students will work with the following worksheet done on Word. They will have to color cut and paste the animal cards under the corresponding category, either PET (if the animal is a pet) or FARM (if the animal belongs to the farm).
What's Next (10 minutes)
The students will play a "Tic, Tac, Toe" to revise all the vocabulary covered in these two lessons. The teacher will draw on the board the traditional tic-tac-toe board, numbering each square and placing a card inside each one, face down.
The class will be divided into two teams, the "Noughts" (o) and the "Crosses" (x). Volunteers from each team will come to the board, choose a numbered square and say the animal If the answer is correct, his/her team can write a "o" or a "x" in the chosen square. If the answer is incorrect, they can't write anything. The object of the game is to be the first team to get three noughts or three crosses in a line vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
Before saying goodbye, we'll sing and dance the traditional song "Old MacDonald had a Farm":
