Student Newsletter

The program student newsletter is published every week and includes program updates, events and job/internships listings. The newsletter is sent to GU email addresses only. Please let your Program Director know if you are not receiving the newsletter or have something to share with your fellow students. Students are expected to know the information included in the newsletter, especially as that information relates to policies and deadlines.

Have you started a new job, won an award, had a piece published or have another type of accomplishment you would like to share with the MPS Journalism community? Let us know! Contact our Program Director Jaeidah Reed.

Georgetown University Graduate Career Center (GCC)

The GCC has kicked off its inaugural semester and will be serving the professional needs of graduate students across the university moving forward. The website is live and it also has a  LinkedIn page where you'll be able to find job and internship postings as well as events and career advice. You can learn more about accessing GCC services through two handy one-pagers: " Get Started with Career Management" and " GCC Career Services.

Waitlist Information

The university uses a live, first-come, first-served process for registration. As a result, the waitlist feature is not offered during course registration. This real-time registration allows students to enroll in classes more quickly; for example, if a student drops out of a class that is closed, then a space will be available immediately and can be taken by the first student to register for that vacant seat.

Leave of Absence

All students in degree programs are required to request a formal Leave of Absence (LOA) for any fall/spring semester during which they will not be able to attend.

To request a Leave of Absence, please complete this form and send it to Program Director Gina Garcia.
