The initial proposal for the night market was put forward by Independent Councillor Ben Wang at the council meeting on March 25, 2024. In November 2025, the Georges River Council officially approved the Hurstville Night Market as a permanent monthly event. 

We are incredibly proud to have started off the very first Hurstville Night Market in October 2024 and to have successfully delivered 11 night markets since then. It is with a bit of sadness to announce that the Georges River Association’s application to to hold a monthly Hurstville Night Market at Hurstville Plaza in 2026 was not accepted. 

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you. These markets would not have been possible without the strong support of stallholders, sponsors, local residents, local businesses, visitors, and our dedicated volunteers. 

The Hurstville Night Market is now held on the last Friday of each month. If you'd like to find out more, please contact the Georges River Council for more information.
