Celebrating the Year of the Horse: Georges River Lunar New Year Festival 2026

The Georges River Association is honoured to participate in the Georges River Council's 2026 Lunar New Year Festival—celebrating the Year of the Horse. The festival represents one of the largest Council-led Lunar New Year celebrations in metropolitan Sydney, marking its twenty-third year in the local area in 2026. The festival will be filled with free entertainment throughout the day, including live stage performances, roving acts, cooking demonstrations, and much more. Join us for this vibrant annual cultural celebration!

Great fun at the Lunar New Year festival! On Saturday, February 1, Georges River Council hosted a vibrant celebration to welcome the Year of the Snake, and we at Georges River Association were honored to perform 35 minutes for such an enthusiastic crowd. Thank you to everyone who joined us in the festivities—your support made the day special.

Georges River Association is honored to be the first performer on the Hurstville Plaza Stage. The Year of the Dragon holds special significance in the Georges River Local Government Area, symbolized by our beloved Georgie the Dragon. Inspired by the legend of Saint George, Georgie represents our ties to the wider St George area and our commitment to positive change.

🏮🥳 Come down to Forest Road, Hurstville, and Hurstville Plaza for a day filled with delicious food, vibrant market stalls, and captivating roving performances.
