Welcome to GeoCosteira - Coastal Studies Unit
GeoCosteira is a research and educational group based in the Federal Fluminense University, Brazil.
About us
Welcome to GeoCosteira - Coastal Studies Unit, a research group registered with the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Our roots lie in the Physical Geography Lab at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), Brazil, which has developed solid experience in academic activities, teaching, and training, community outreach, and applied science projects.
Since 2010, we have been operating on the UFF campus in Campos dos Goytacazes, a city located 270 km north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Under the coordination of Professor Eduardo Bulhoes, we have been actively creating and disseminating knowledge while providing technical advice on coastal issues.
Our group's expertise is built on years of research, teaching, and practical experience. We are committed to advancing knowledge in the field of coastal studies through our research, teaching, and outreach efforts. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about our team, our activities, and our technical services.
Who we are?
We are a dynamic and passionate group of physical geographers with a shared interest in the sea, the coast, climate, and their interactions. Our research focuses on coastal processes and marine geography, and we are committed to using the latest tools and techniques in coastal survey, geoprocessing, and data science to advance our understanding of these complex systems.
Our team's expertise spans a range of disciplines, including Climatology, Geomorphology, Coastal Mapping, Environmental Monitoring and Diagnosis, Modeling of Coastal Processes, Environmental Education, Coastal Erosion, Sedimentology, Meteoceanography, Coastal Hydrodynamics, and Environmental Assessment. By combining our diverse skill sets, we are able to tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges facing our planet today.
We are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and expertise with others, and we are actively engaged in teaching and training activities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We also offer technical services to support industry and government partners in environmental and geotechnology fields.
Thank you for your interest in our work, and we invite you to explore our website to learn more about our team, our research, and how we can help you achieve your goals.
