About Us
Guilford College's club dedicated to nerd culture- may that be video games, board games, tabletop RPGs, anime/manga, or something else! The Guilford College Yachting Club serves as an open space for members of the community to be enthusiastic about what they enjoy, and to share that with others. We host a biannual convention, WTH?!Con, that has been a campus staple for years, and serves as a place for Guilford community members to enjoy, and not be afraid to explore their "nerdy" interests.
Club Values
- Create a space where community members can be enthusiastic about their interests comfortably, with peers with similar interests.
- Encourage community members to delve into their interests further.
- Serve as a safe space for students- racism, sexism, homophobia/transphobia, etc. are strictly prohibited.
- Expand the interests of likeminded individuals through club meetings, or ""demos""- exploring things within nerd culture that intrigue.Â
Goals for the school year
- Expand membership and campus interest via advertising on campus.
- Explore new ideas for club meetings by hosting member-run demos, movie nights, etc.
- Collaborate with clubs on campus.
