Oropi School is a semi-rural school close to Tauranga city in New Zealand. The school has approximately 210-250 children (2024) aged 5 to 13 years.
Their school website states: "Learning about, with and through a variety of cultures and languages is not just for the ‘privileged’ and each student in multi-cultural Aotearoa deserves the opportunity to grow into aware and responsive adults".
At Oropi School children learn two or three second languages, Māori, Mandarin and Spanish through two supporting strands of linguistic and cultural awareness.
