Growing Global Citizenship Education in Aotearoa is designed to support teachers to inspire and grow global citizenship education in their classrooms, schools and kura.
This website was initially developed by the Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs), which were funded by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). The CAPEs programmes were delivered by a consortium of four universities: The University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, The University of Waikato, and the University of Otago.
The original CAPEs contract finished at the end of June 2024. The work on this website is being carried on by facilitators at Te Whai Toi Tangata, the University of Waikato.
If you want to know more about GCED you can explore our free self-directed online course.
While funding for free PLD has now finished we have a wealth of expertise available in our team. If you would like to talk with us about school/cluster-funded global citizenship PLD please get in touch by emailing Loren Wilson.
If you wish to suggest future resources and articles for the website, or you wish to share your own stories about your work with GCED, then please contact Jan-Marie Kellow.
