A Limsan-raised Ala Mhigan, Ashe has always felt at odds with where she considers home. The memories she has of Gyr Abania are hazy war torn: the death of her mother, the frantic trek from salt flats to trees, the hostilities of the Gridanians that awaited them there and the long journey across the seas to the thalassocratic land of La Noscea. It was her father's hope that he could appeal to his brother for work, given that Dimitri had left Ala Mhigo not long after adulthood, but the youngest was arrogant and self-serving, tossing him and Ashe on the street. The two were destitute for a time, making ends meet on wayward ships as a brawny sailor and his fledgling cabin boy.

Boy. Ashe didn't mind being referred to as a boy — to the point that, when she first revealed her birth gender to her now-husband, she was surprised by how little he cared — but it was that connection which first gave the two prosperity. Some of Ashe's earliest memories were in the care of Y'Shero Tia and his family, a seeker couple who had cast off their tribal roots in order to try and make a fisher's living in Limsa Lominsa, who took her in while her father made ends meet on various merchant ships. The two became rather well-known for trying to sort local 'problems' (someone would put up an ad for an adventuring duo, Ashe would turn up with Shiro in toe, and they would reluctantly be given the job provided there wasn't a huge risk of maiming or death) as they galivanted across La Nocsea.

In truth, their life was rather idyllic... then the calamity hit, and Shiro's parents were killed out at sea.

In his grief he left Limsa Lominsa for Sharlayan to learn practical medicine, believing he needed to 'grow up quickly' and make something of himself in order to prevent future harm to his loved ones. Ashe's father returned to assist his daughter's work in the absence of her best friend, and the two took on odd jobs until he fell ill and she was able to send word for Shiro just before he passed.

Orphans within the span of a few years, with no real place to turn, Ashe had promised she would return to Ala Mhigo one day for her father's sake... but what did that entail?

In the months that followed Shiro worked on the practical application of his Sharlayan-honed skills and opened a clinic in the Limsan Lower Docks, never turning away a patient no matter how dubious the source of their injuries. His proficiency in healing without the use of aether attracted the attention of Firelight Trading Company's leader, Rexonus Fira'lux, who poached both Shiro and Ashe for his own uses.

Some notable adventures Ashe has been on:

• She returned to Ala Mhigo to spread her father's ashes. Though she keeps to many of her country's traditions, she prefers travelling wider Eorzea.

• During the Final Days, after finally admitting she was in love with Shiro after years of pining, said, "Hey, if we survive this, we should get married!"

• She unofficially adopted a whole-ass grown miqo'te woman called Poki. Just for fun.

These hooks are not comprehensive! Rather, they serve as a springboard for potential interactions based on a few core tropes, backstory info, characterisations, etc. You are more than welcome to message me OOC to hash things out before approaching. 

FIRELIGHT TRADING COMPANY. As Lead Courier for Firelight Trading Company, Ashe commands a great deal of authority and respect, which has been earned through her tireless work and dedication. She takes the time to get to know the couriers under her, memorising their strengths and weaknesses, and liaises with them and other freelance adventurers (where needed) to bolster Firelight's arsenal. She's more than happy to show newbies how it works and even accompany them on missions far below her own skill level. She just wants to help! 

SC&P. Ashe occasionally does work for the security company Savage, Crag and Pike. If you know them, you may have seen her around!

ALA MHIGAN. Ashe's father was a stalwart son of Ala Mhigo who toiled endlessly to support other refugees and sends funds back to their homeland whenever he had gil to spare. Though Ashe has always felt at odds with her own status as an Ala Mhigan, given her memories of the place are sparse and war-torn, she's well-known because of her fathers actions and likely knows of (or is at least familiar) with most Ala Mhigans who took up residence in Limsa.

ADVENTURING. It goes without saying that Ashe has had her fair share of adventures, though this extends well before tying herself to Firelight. It's entirely possible for her to know a myriad of other adventurers, no matter where their lives have taken them.

BRAWLING. Not one to let go of an addrenalin rush, Ashe can sometimes be found in the pits of a brawling ring challenging whatever reinging champion is there at the time. This causes no end of grief for her husband who has to patch her up by the end of the night. Maybe she fought you?
