Woodcarving

'Woodcarvers at Heighington' is a small group of likeminded people, fascinated by the design and creation of all aspects of wood crafted sculpture and 'treen' as well as the tools used to create woodcarvings.

During our meetings we discuss wood and the world. We drink copious coffee and tea and sometimes get around to carving wood! Over the two years that the group has existed we have all benefitted from the advice and support of other members and we aspire to keep improving our knowledge of and ability in this great historic craft . When circumstance permits, we enjoy visiting the work of woodcarvers past and present .

Needless to say our hero is Grinling Gibbons.
