About me
My name is Garin Bramwell and I am 20 years old. Currently, I am studying level 2 computing and I want to progress to level 3 computing. I have a passion for computing and I love to diagnose problems within a computer whether if it’s a problem with the hardware or software. The reason why I chose to study I.T. is because it seemed like an interesting course to learn about. I owned a computer and wanted to learn more about how it worked. I wanted to learn how to build websites and code. I was interested in building a business. So, I completed an entry level 3 course, to get used to College life and then studied level 1 and 2.
My main hobby is weight training. While this can be a solo sport, there are many people in the gym who are supportive and give good advice. I enjoy doing this sport as it pushes the mind to do greater things. Every session is a challenge and it helps improves my mental health. The sport helps me to look at myself better. It also requires me to have a good diet.
While doing weight training, I have gained patience. Getting stronger and fitter takes time and it doesn’t happen overnight. This will relate to the level 3 course. I will understand that some assignments and exams may take a long time and I can keep pushing at it every day.
I have gained desire. This keeps me training at my best every day; I can bring that trait into level 3 course. No matter what goes on outside of the College; I will produce 100% into everything I do whether that is exams or course work. I will work at my best every day.
I have become mentally tough. Some days I will fail weights or not perform to my best, but I will continue on until I produce my best. There may be exams I will fail or assignments that have lower grades that I wanted, but I will bounce back and keep performing.
My long-term goal is to pursue a career in the I.T. field whether that’s as a mechanic or engineer. By completing the level 3 course; it will get me one step closer to my goal. The course will give me some experience to what the many jobs will entail. Hopefully, it will give me enough UCAS points to go to university.
My future goals are to study at a university in a computing field. I want to study somewhere local like Cardiff City or Swansea City. Then, I will apply for a job. I believe university will be a massive step forward for me and will give me valuable experiences that will help me through life.
As part of my computer course, I have developed my problem-solving skills. This is vital in the work place as it will allow me to quickly deal with any problems with a business. It will allow me to keep my cool if any situations arise. I can plan, in the long term, to deal with problems and improve the business.
I have also improved my general understanding of computers. I can create simple databases with information and solve complex calculations. I have started to learn how to code. For example, I have created a simple calculator using buttons add, subtract, divide and multiply.
