Mario Kart is such a popular game and for good reason. It's fun, easy to pick up, and the mod APK for Mario Kart Tour only makes this family-friendly game even better. If you're looking for an app that still requires strategy but allows you sit back in your chair with some excitement, then Mario Kart Tour is the perfect mobile game!
The latest incarnation of Nintendo's flagship racer series has finally been announced as Mario Kart Tour. The game features over 15 tracks spanning five cups - there are Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup, Special Cup and Extra Cups that can be unlocked from playing through different cities or by purchasing them with coins in-game.
You can play as fan-favorite characters like Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Bowser - each on a themed kart representing their own personal flair. You can either play as the actual character from the Mario franchise or a fun alternative version that has been reimagined specifically for the game.
The game features three different modes - Grand Prix (three rounds), VS Race (one-on-one competition) and Online Tournament. The game will be free-to-play, but you can spend real money for in-game currency such as coins. You can then use that coinage to unlock new characters, karts and other features.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is pretty basic - you drive a kart around an open track collecting coins and outrunning opponents. Simple mechanics really help the game feel fresh, and allows it to be accessible to all ages. I'm not a huge fan of most racing games, but Mario Kart Tour managed to captivate me with its simple mechanics and fast-paced action!
Graphics & Visuals:
The game features a cartoonish art style that perfectly captures the essence of the characters from the Mario franchise. The sprites are well-designed and the karts are fun to drive. The tracks look good and feature a lot of different scenery to keep things interesting.
Soundtrack:
While not fantastic, the soundtrack was appropriate for Mario Kart Tour. No iconic Mario tunes from previous games were included in the game, but there is a good mix of upbeat tunes that fit the racing gameplay perfectly. There's no real voice acting, which Nintendo might consider in a future update...
Performance & System Requirements
The gameplay is incredibly smooth thanks to the stunning visuals and fluid frame-rate. There were no noticeable bugs or glitches that I experienced, but you can check out the APK Screenshot below for a clear view of the game's user interface.
