THE ‘GLOBAL’ CIVILIZATION OF ‘LOCAL’ CIVILIZATIONS
On the face of it, the preface ‘global’ to ‘local’ seems self-contradictory. But the reason to club this worldwide practice may have some merit. We shall however leave that discussion to those with more specialized knowledge of religions and social traditions. But two developments strike us to be important. Firstly, all civilizations referred to as local or some folk religions have certain commonalities in their worldview. Secondly, and that might be more relevant to our focus on global international relations, is the fact that local religions have switched their affiliations rather rapidly to both Christianity and Islam. The switch has been most notable in Sub-Sahara Africa.
The Following trends data would explain the narrative.
