Career Summary & Goals

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

My career goal is to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners diagnose and treat chronic illnesses. They are allowed to prescribe medications as well as well as provide patients with assistance. PNPs focus on health promotion and disease preventions. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners usually work with pediatricians in hospitals and other medical offices. Being a NP also allows you to run your own office which is very exciting. Not only will I be able to take care of my patients and watch the grow, I have the opportunity to start my own business. Being a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner allows me to take care of newborns and infants until the reach adulthood. This allows me to watch my patients grow up and mature which is very exciting. To be fully certified, I am aware that nurse practitioners must take advanced courses throughout college as well as study and pass their boards. I know this process will not be easy but I am going to make sure I stay on top of things and never become discouraged.
