13. Now a shortcut, press L to create a line, select the inside of the shelled space (as per the gif to the right) as your plane to sketch on. Draw a line across the centre of the rectangle, press escape to finish the line.
Now select the line, then press the X key to turn this centre line into a construction line.
Now draw a line slightly above and parallel to this line, press escape to finish it, then type S to bring up the sketch toolbox and type mirror. Select the mirror tool.
Select the last line you drew, then select "Mirror Line" in the mirror tool, then select the construction line and press ok.
Notice another line is created across the Mirror line, a reflection of the line above it.
Imagine the other uses for this tool, it's used extensively in CAD. Just like patterning.
14. Now we need to ensure the measurement of these lines is correct. The distance between the mirrored lines should be 0.8mm. So, press the S key to bring up the sketch toolbox, type "Dimension" and select the dimension tool. Select both lines either side of the construction line and drag out to the right. Left click, then enter the dimension as 0.8mm and press enter.
15. We need to trim away unwanted lines now using the trim tool. Press the S key to bring up the sketch toolbox and the type trim and pick the trim tool, OR just press the "T" key. Now select all the unwanted lines as per the video to the right.
NOW PRESS "STOP SKETCH"
16. SAVE YOUR LEGO BRICK
Ok, now we need to work on the other little bosses inside the lego brick. Zoom in on the top left hand corner of the brick. Use the L key to bring up the line sketch tool and draw a tiny three sided rectangle up against the top left hand edge. Press esc once you've drawn the last side of it. IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE A SPECIFIC SIZE, approximate is fine.
