6. So, we don't have to draw out another 7 studs! Instead we can use one of the "Patterning" tools in Fusion 360. Watch the video to the right or follow the instructions below.
Press S to bring up the model toolbox and type "pattern", now select "Rectangular pattern from the list".
Next select the OUTSIDE EDGE of the circle we just created, select the right had direction arrow and drag to the right, notice multiple studs appear?
Now change the "Distance Type" field to read "spacing", change the quantity (this is the horizontal quantity) to 2 and the distance to -8mm (MINUS 8mm!).
The next set of fields deal with the vertical pattern, here we want to set a quantity of 4 (4 studs down....) and a distance of 8mm (8mm apart).
Press OK and you'll see your stud pattern has been created.
NOW CLICK "STOP SKETCH"!
7. Now we need to extrude our studs into space. Change your view a little so you can see the brick in 3d using the view cube. Press "Q" for the pushpull tool, select all the studs, then type 1.8mm and press enter twice. The model is now looking quite recognisable.
Refer back to the orthographic projection for a moment so you can confirm all dimensions are as expected.
NOW CLICK "STOP SKETCH"!
8. We are now going to use the Shell tool to scoop out the inside of the brick.
Now use the view cube to change your view so you are looking at the brick from underneath.
Press S on the keyboard to bring up the sketch toolbox then type "shell" and select the shell tool.
Click on the bottom plane of the brick and type 1.2mm, this will shell-out the brick to an edge thickness of 1.2mm. (notice the direction on the tool information says "Inside").
