Various local archives and museums contained materials regarding the African American history and history of race relations within Cherokee County. Below is a listing of collections at local institutions which supported the research for the project.
History Cherokee hosts various exhibits which share the history and accomplishments of Cherokee County's African American community. Exhibits include a replica of the Canton Theater and showing of the brief documentary, The Way it Was, which tells the story of Cherokee County's Civil Rights movement. For a limited time, the documentary is also available to watch for free via YouTube.
