Student support is a vital component when speaking about student excellence and to reach this perfection it requires practice and repetition of good habits and strong discipline. The students will not only have tutoring support online, but they will have access to tutors who are retired teachers and college students from the honors society from Greenville Technical College with these tools:
We will work with the online school as it relates to our students who are experiences some slag in their academic benchmark.
The Academic Assistance Tutoring: will be for our students who are slagging behind and experiencing academic difficulty in their class. At the start of the school year each student will be evaluated on their academic benchmark success goal. We They meet with our counselor on campus to discuss any issues they may have been experiencing and we communicate with the school on the students’ issues on how to problem solve their issues. Collaboration is power when it’s within a community of support. After-school and during break time will be the time to seek help with school assignment.
Class recession occurs after the class school day. This is where the student can meet with the tutors online or in person to obtain extra help with assignment. Students may be assigned to meet in the evening with tutors who are if this is schedule with the onsite coordinator ahead of time.
(TPPA)-The power of planners/agendas: each student-athlete will receive a planner/ agenda books to help with them practicing of staying organized. Our students will receive these at the start of orientation on the first day during check in. In their planners, they will be expected use their planners to monitor upcoming test/exams, homework assignments, upcoming projects, and community events.
Peer-to-Peer Tutoring is available to students who find themselves in need of additional tutorial assistance. Peer-to-Peer Tutors are other high school students who are looking to help our students.
As a program, we will teach them how to study, the prime time in studying and why they need to go to a library when studying. Each of our students will have mandatory study hall three evening out of the week at the library. The purpose in this is to help prepare our students for what the college life will be like and we want them to practice good habits. Study time is monitored by one of our RA’s or Coaching staff.
