The Week of March 18th, 2024 - The Kindness Fair runs all week! Family Night Thursday, 6 - 9 p.m. in the Library.
Like last year, projects will be on display during school hours for students to enjoy while they shop the Big Book Bazaar.
NEW THIS YEAR! Participate in our diaper drive and welcome note making activity for displaced families at the Fort Point shelter. We will be accepting donations of diapers and wipes during the entire week with last donations during Thursday's Family night. You can also help virtually via this shelter needs Amazon list: https://amzn.to/3P6t0Wc. Let's try to fulfill this entire wishlist for our neighbors!

Not ready to sign up for a project? No problem! Please join us in the library during Family Night where we will have hands on projects and activities + ways to become involved in the community.
Calling all Kind People!
Do you have an idea about how to make our community kinder, more inclusive, or more equitable? Are you already involved in a project or a group that is helping make our community or world a better place? Come share your ideas and projects at Ruffin Ridley’s Kindness Fair! (Think Science Fair but with fewer explosions and more opportunities for serving our community).
All FRR students, families, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the Kindness Fair! Any questions? please email FRREquityPAC@gmail.com.

Interactive Kindness Board using post-its
Thank You Note Station to write notes to those who deserve appreciation.
Diaper Drive :
Participate in our diaper drive and welcome note making activity for displaced families at the Fort Point shelter.

Projects can highlight different ways to help:
the unhoused/displaced
the ill
the elderly
the food insecure people in our community.
FAQs
I'm having trouble coming up with an idea. No problem, we are here to help! Here are some ideas that would make great kindness projects.
Girl and Boy Scouts projects
Class projects that are service/volunteer based and educate others on the topics of social, racial justice, equity and/or inclusion
Book Drives
Are you a member of Girls on the Run? We want to hear about your experience!
Mothers out Front Social Justice Group
Food Drives
Clothing Drives
Cleaning up our playgrounds/parks
Show off your hand painted kindness rocks
Send letters to soldiers
Visit older adults
Do I have to stand next to my project ? No, but you are welcome to during Family Night, whatever makes you comfortable.
Will I be judged? No, there will be no judging.
Any prizes? All participants will receive an official certificate of recognition.
Should I include anything valuable for display? No. Your projects or posters will be on display all week in the Library and will not be monitored. Please do not include anything of value.
Does my project have to be presented on a tri-fold poster? No, there are no requirements for displaying your project. You can use anything from a tri-fold poster board to a simple standard size paper poster detailing how you made your community a better place. If you are in need a poster board, please reach out to FRRequitypac@gmail.com
What should I include on my display? Depending on the project the elements of your poster will vary but you can include topics such as a roles and responsibility, planning log, action items, documentation, reflection, and ideas for next time!
