FROGGY'S DEW RESUME

I was expecting this flavor to taste like Satan’s asshole, but it’s pretty much just lime. 🤷

Earlier tonight, I tasted Flamin’ Hot for the first time. For those unaware, Flamin’ Hot is widely considered to be the worst Mountain Dew flavor ever created.

Knowing its reputation, I was bracing myself for a wild ride, but the truth ended up being a bit anticlimactic.

Basically… it’s lime.

Don’t get me wrong. There is some heat to it. You can feel it in your throat on the aftertaste. However, the spiciness— if you can even call it that— is very subtle, especially when the soda is cold. I drank it slowly, and did notice the heat a bit more as the bottle reached room temperature, but even then, calling this stuff “Flamin’ Hot” feels like a major exaggeration.

The smell is very telling. I even remarked to Curtis that it smelled strongly of lime when I first opened it. Then I took a sip, and yeah, it tasted like lime.

I honestly liked it. Maybe it was only because my expectations were so low, but I don’t think this one deserves to be called the worst Dew flavor ever. It’s not even my personal least favorite. The marketing surrounding it and the color of the liquid totally misled me.

Speaking of the color, this drink will turn your tongue slightly orange. That’s probably the biggest similarity it has with Flamin’ Hot snacks.

It’s freaking lime, you guys. 🤦‍♂️
