Ah, Christmas. A time for family bonding, great food, overly cheery music… and tasting new Mountain Dew favors!
Yes, I managed to grab several bottles of two Game Fuel Dews while I was visiting my hometown for the holiday. One of them was Citrus Cherry, which is a re-release, so I’ve drank it before. For this review, we’re going to focus on the new one: Citrus Blackberry.
Now, I LOVE blackberries, so my hopes for this Dew were really high. There’s just something about the taste of blackberries that feels so luxurious, or even, dare I say, divine. Was it possible for a Mountain Dew flavor to capture that level of sheer decadence?
No, not quite. But it sure comes close! Citrus Blackberry is excellent. I think I may like it even better than Citrus Cherry, which is widely considered to be the best of the entire Game Fuel lineup. It has a tartness to it, but it’s not super strong, so the experience isn’t too overwhelming. I also appreciate its uniqueness, since blackberry soda isn’t something you see every day.
There is some raspberry flavoring mixed into Citrus Blackberry as well, which you can definitely taste. While I don’t love raspberries quite as much I love blackberries, I still enjoy them a lot, so I consider this a welcome addition. (I am a big Voltage fan, after all!)
If you like blackberries and raspberries, you gotta try this one. I promise you will not regret it.
If you don’t like blackberries… What the hell is wrong with you?
