Team Updates, February 27th, 2024
It's almost time! Come join us 2024 Preseason Team Meeting where we will cover everything abut the upcoming season.
Many of you are asking how the opening of West Field High School will impact out team.
Fear not! We're still going to be together... at least for one more season. However, there will be some changes to ensure we are in compliance with the league's rules. Here's a breakdown of how things will work for the 2024 season:
Fremont and West Field will have two separate teams operating under a single head coach. (Coach Stephanie)
Students attending West Field High School or one of the West Field "feeder" Schools will be required to register under the new West Field Team, while those remaining in Fremont or the Fremont "feeder" schools will register with Fremont.
West Field riders will be required to race in West Field kits (jerseys). We are almost done with the new West Field kit (and it looks AMAZING!)
West Field and Fremont will practice together, fundraise together, have adjoining Pit Zones at the races and, other than wearing separate kits, operate as a single team.
Both teams will need to have enough registered coaches to meet the 6 to1 rider to coach requirement mandated by NICA, so coaches with kids on the new West Field Team will be asked to register with that team and coaches with kids on Fremont will be asked to register with Fremont.
The coaches with no kids on either team will need to choose which team they'd like to register with, but since we are all riding together, please understand that it doesn't really matter which team they choose as all of the coaches are here to support all of the riders.
The 2025 season will bring additional changes, but right now our focus is on building the new team and ensuring our riders know that no matter which team they are on, we're still the same family with the same coaches, same riders, and same friends.
All riders, parents, and coaches need to join the Teams' GroupMe Thread
Please limit communication to information intended only for the entire team.
When everyone receives 20+ GroupMe notifications that are not applicable to them, people tend to turn off their notifications, then they don't receive info when they actually need it. For example if you're going to be late to practice, let your Color Group Leader know--not the entire team.
If you need to communicate with an individual send that person a direct message.
