THE LONGER VERSION
Malaika KIng Albrecht’s approach is not about fixing or achievement; it is about noticing — noticing breath, sensation, relationship, and the interplay of inner experience with the world around you. Malaika is especially interested in how learning happens through embodied witness—through listening to the body, to animals, to the land, and to what emerges in moments of uncertainty.
Malaika is a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and an equine specialist in mental health and learning, a Reiki practitioner, a poet and metal artist, and a Yoga Alliance registered yoga instructor. She also brings experience in mindfulness facilitation, breath-based practices, and community-centered education. Rather than directing outcomes, her work emphasizes choice, agency, and respectful relationships for both human and animal participants.
At Freckles Farm, Malaika understands her role not as the central teacher but as a co-teacher with the equines and participants. Learning here is collaborative, responsive, and shaped by the moment rather than by a predetermined script. Alongside her work at the farm, Malaika is a poet and essayist whose writing also explores attention, care, and ethical presence—concerns that quietly inform all aspects of her practice.
