SCratch Workshops

VPCI students are hosting virtual Scratch Workshops for beginners to coding via zoom!

There will be 3 sessions, each 75 minutes for elementary students, but everyone is welcome! They will take place:

May 31, June 7, June 14 @ 5PM - 6:15PM EST

We will do our best to teach and assist you, but you will need:

  • a laptop/computer with internet access

  • a microphone (optional, but preferred)

PLEASE TRY TO SIGN-UP BY MAY 20 - it makes allocation easier

WHAT IS SCRATCH?

Scratch is a block-based coding language that can be used to create games, animations, music, stories, and much more.

All you need to do is start! In our first session, we will be helping you create an account and start your journey into programming!

What will you be learning?

  • core programming concepts

    • variables, loops, if statements, user interaction + more

  • creating video games + animations

By the end of the 3 sessions, we will have helped you create a basic video game!
