Vaulit Mobile App
Vaulit Mobile App
The African Fintech industry is growing with hundreds of apps promising to help users receive and send money. However, for many of these products, it becomes difficult to figure out how they can help you or what you can do with the app.
That is why the team at Vaulit decided to focus on clear communication and there I was, chilling in my shiny amour.
Fixed The Onboarding Flow. For many users, it goes downhill right after a terrible onboarding experience and very often, it starts with the splash screen. So I decided to use the splash screens as teasers, focusing on how the app can help them and why they should use it.
Content Style Guide: I created a content style guide based on the brand manual and used it to ensure consistency throughout the project.
Empathy Map: I also created an empathy map and used this as a basis for copy testing. The empathy map helped me stay in tune with the feelings of users and helped me create appropriate copy that matched their emotions at different stages of the user journey.
Some Challenges Encountered
One major challenge was that Vaulit wasn't only out the help people send and receive money but also to promote financial literacy and help people learn how to manage money. The tricky part was communicating these financial lessons without sounding like school. With skillful UX Writing, I was able to achieve this.
Copy Testing
To prepare this product for the users, every piece of copy was rigorously tested to be sure it fit into the Ugandan market. We employed the following testing methods.
A/B Testing: Different versions were created and tested by peer groups to see which is a better fit.
Empathy Map: I used the empathy map as a guide and test too to cross-check each screen and be certain that phrases, sentences, and button labels are appropriate and in line with the user's current mood.
