Historical Cemetery Program
Beginning in 2011 (and mostly completed by 2015), the Society conducted a survey of Foster's 158 historic cemeteries. Once completed, this survey will allow you to see details, GPS coordinates, and photos of each historic cemetery located in Foster, Rhode Island. The survey is an ongoing project which will be updated regularly.

Cemetery Clean-up and Restoration Projects
The Foster Preservation Society regularly promotes events to clean, repair, and restore broken grave markers. Through these efforts, over 200 stones have been repaired in the last three years.
We also sponsor periodic clean-ups by our members, Foster residents, schools, and other local groups such as the Boy Scouts.
Interested in restoring an historical cemetery near you? If so, please contact us, we are always looking for willing volunteers.

FPS has replaced Historic Cemetery Signs!
As the FPS Historical Cemetery survey progressed, one of the Society's goals was to replace all of the historic cemetery signs which had been damaged or gone missing. The FPS had the new signs made and has now installed signs in nearly all of Foster's historic cemeteries. If you notice that a sign is damaged or missing from an historic cemetery near you, please contact the Society using the phone number or email shown below and we will work to get it replaced.
Thank you!!!
