Love You From Right Here is a children's book written from the perspective of a foster parent to a foster child. It highlights many emotions a child may experience while transitioning into a new home, as a foster child, while offering a constant reminder that they are safe and loved.
This is one of my favourite books written for foster children. It also has a section in the back of the book designed for you to record memories and messages for the child about their time in your home. This allows the book to become a one-of-kind keepsake the child can always have, reminding them of the time they shared with you regardless of whether they return home or are adopted.

Below is a compilation of books that you may wish to add to your collection. There are several resources to assist you as a foster parent, while navigating through the challenges you may face with children in the foster system.
There are also several children's books which focus on behaviours, emotions, trauma, loss, self-regulation, and living in foster care and any of them would make a wonderful addition to your bedtime routine.
If you are interested in learning more or in purchasing any of the books click the cover image and it will bring you directly to the purchasing page. I have no affiliations with any of the books listed, I simply believe that they are valuable resources for both caregivers and children in the foster system.
