Bubble blowing provides a fun and interactive way for children to learn various breathing exercises. Below is one of my favourite bubble recipes and it is fantastic for making GIANT bubbles.
There is also a video demonstrating how to make a giant bubble wand, as well as, the bubble mixture.
Blowing bubbles is the perfect activity for cloudy or overcast days as these weather conditions create the best environment for making the biggest bubbles. Enjoy!
In a large bowl or resealable container combine,
2 cups of Dawn Original dish soap.
2 tablespoons of baking soda.
2 tablespoons of cornstarch.
5 tablespoons of glycerin.
Mix ingredients well.
Next add,
9 and a 1/2 cups of water.
Gently mix ingredients together trying to be as gentle as possible to, ironically, avoid making bubbles.
Let mixture sit overnight prior to using.
This bubble mixture gets better with time! Store your bubbles in a resealable container or use an empty laundry detergent dispenser for easy access.
Note: Bubbles will be quick to pop initially, but will get better as you play with the mixture, so don't be discouraged!
When using the bubble mixture it is best to use a large bowl or pail so that your wands can be completely submerged.
