Below are linked many of the apps we use throughout our day at school. Some are required lab apps, while others are available as extra practice or to help you, as your student's grown-up, to engage with their learning or to provide them with extra practice. Remember, you must log into the Harmony portal first, to access many of these apps through the links.
RAZ Kids - Students are required to complete a minimum of 20 minutes a week of RAZ, plus read and listen to a minimum of one book and pass the quiz that goes along with that book. If they can do more than that in 20 minutes, they can keep going! This is personalized practice at your child's reading level!
NoRedInk- Students are required to complete the assigned sections each week during their lab time. There is extra practice on all sorts of topics within this app for both writing and grammar. There is a STAAR practice pathway as well as a 3rd grade pathway.
Newsela- Some students are assigned 2 articles within this app weekly. One is assigned by me and the other is your students choice. All students are encouraged to read in this amazing app that has news articles adapted for students. There are quizzes, writing prompts, and vocabulary lessons within the articles as well. Students can adjust the reading level of some articles and many articles are even available in Spanish!
Amplify- Some students are assigned this app for a minimum of 20 minutes a week, however, all students are encouraged to access it and enjoy learning within it. Students have personalized paths within this game based application, set meet them where they need help. Students are progress monitored on a regular basis to make sure the student pathway meets them right where they need support.
HMH Ed- HMH is the electronic verison of our reading book that we use in the classroom. You can use this to access some of texts we read in class, as well as learning extensions that we do not complete in class.
Summit K-12- Any student who is currently designated as a language learner is assigned this app for a minimum of 20 minutes a week. Students will work on both listening and speaking skills!
Lexia- This app is for students classified as English Language Learners and has a minimum 20 minute requirement per week for those it is assigned to.
Class Dojo- This is the main app I use in class to communicate with you! I post weekly announcements, share pictures, and share important information. You can message me directly within this app and I usually will get back to you very quickly! There is a translation feature within this app that makes it very easy to communicate. If you need a code to join please reach out to me!
Harmony Portal- This is where you can log in to your student's portal so that you can access your student's apps, as well as Skyward to check your child's grades. Your student should know how to log into the portal, but if they need help, or you would like to access it, please follow the directions below or on the Helpful Info page. :)
