History of the Panama City Chapter SAR
Established in 1973, the Panama City Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is approaching its 50th Anniversary in 2023. Thomas Yonge Bingham is the founder and first President of the Panama City Chapter SAR. The Panama City Chapter SAR has been blessed to have many prominent men of the community serving as officers or participating as members. Within the last 50 years, among the membership there has been two Mayors of Panama City, father and son, (Clemons) and a three times Mayor of Port Saint Joe, (Belin). In addition an Artist, (Brent), an Author, (Cutchens), Bay Co. Public Library Director, two Gulf Coast State College Professors of History, (Jack) and ( ) , an Dr. Criminal Justice ( ) . Also many Military Veterans of WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm.
