Who Can Join?
The SAR is a "lineage" society. This means that each member has traced their family tree back to a point of having an ancestor who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774-1783.

Who is the Revolutionary War Patriot?
Not just the soldier or veteran, but those who have been documented in providing aid to the Revolutionary cause or have been documented swearing elegance.
Those who sign the “Association Test” declaring Independence for the Colonies, promising to take arms against the Tories.
