The chapter has been blessed to have many prominent men, "Pillars of the Community" serving as officers or as participating members. Among the membership there has been two Mayors of Panama City, father and son, (Clemons) and a three times Mayor of Port Saint Joe, (Belin). All these busy men serving their community and country through demanding careers. Yet, they found time to research their family lineage, uncovering a family history, revealing and documenting a family heritage. They honored their family name by recording the legacy created by generations of their ancestors.

Great men know they are not the center of the universe, that they are only significant as a part of a greater larger entity such as an organization, family, community and country. Search your ancestral tree, discover the treasure awaiting you and your family members, and record it for the generations to come. Serve and honor your family and therefore honoring yourself. You don't have to be a Pillar of the Community to join the SAR Panama City Chapter, just be able to trace and prove your ancestral lineage to a American Revolutionary Patriots. Many of you readers, unknowingly can do this.
