Spectacular to watch and toe-tappingly enticing to dance to, the Adelaide Empire Band features a dazzling array of instruments playing unique medleys of merry melodies. Regarded as Adelaide's "Best Band to Dance to”.   A traditional feature at the Fleurieu Folk Festival every year is the Big English Session in what is now known as "Pete's Bar". For over 10 years, this session is one we all look forward to.

Anna Weatherup (NSW)

Anna Weatherup first came to the public’s attention via The Voice, Australia.  For many artists, the effects of such an experience can be overwhelmingly positive, and for others, it leads them down that strange road of reflection and career recalibration; which can be equally positive, if not more so.  Anna Weatherup has no doubt gone through such a period and the results of these inner travels are evocatively defined in her new single's Climb, Little Bluebird and Anna's recent release, The River.

This was the beginning of what would evolve into Jimmybay performing in Festivals across Australia, including Illawarra Folk Festival, Deep South Blues and Roots and the National Folk Festival. Blues-folk-alt country vagabond Jimmybay has been travelling from town to town in his beat-up kombi van for the past five years. Pete Titchener (SA)

What can be said about Pete Titchener that hasn’t already been read out in court? Pete migrated from the UK to Australia in 1991 and has been a nuisance ever since. It all started innocently enough when he joined a local bush band.  One thing led to another and a few years later he joined Adelaide band Colcannon. Several international tours later the band called it a day. Pete then started working with folk legend Eric Bogle.

Recognising that one day this bubble might burst he graciously decided to offer himself as a solo performer and allow the somewhat suppressed comedic side of him to step forward. His mother’s next-door neighbour reckons “he’s quite good” – However, you be the judge.
