Welcome to Fleurieu Folk Festival

Thank you to everyone for another great festival!

Fleurieu Folk Festival has come of age! 2024 is our 18th year, and it was a great festival!

Set in the picturesque town of Willunga on the Fleurieu Peninsula, every October, the Fleurieu Folk Festival is South Australia's largest and friendliest folk music event.  We present the best local, interstate and international musicians in a three-day music celebration covering a broad range of genres, including traditional and contemporary folk, acoustic, Celtic, blues,  Americana,  roots, bluegrass and more!

With workshops, sessions, dancers, blackboard concerts, musical theatre, poetry, spoken word and children’s entertainment, local food, wine and market stalls, there is truly something for everyone! We even provide a special venue - Cafe AcousticA- just for people who want to come along and play their own music,  and a Busk Stop for buskers! And you will find music enthusiasts playing together in every niche and corner.

Promoting young South Australian musicians has always been a significant priority for the Fleurieu Folk Festival. Each year, we nominate an outstanding folk musician aged between 14 and 25 to represent South Australia in Folk Alliance Australia's youth showcase concerts at the National Folk Festival in Canberra. The aim of the Youth Awards is to boost the profile of young performers and introduce, support and encourage them to the next level of their development.

Fleurieu Folk Festival has proudly received the  Community Event of the Year award in the City of Onkaparinga's Australia Day Awards five times: in  2014, 2016, 2020,  2022 and 2024.

We are looking for new and additional Committee and Subcommittee members, so if you are interested in becoming closely involved with the festival, come along and talk to us!

Community Event of the Year

Fleurieu Folk Festival is proud to announce that we have been awarded the City of Onkaparinga Community Event of the Year for the fifth time. We are very grateful for Onkaparinga Council's ongoing support which makes our festival and so many others successful.

Fleurieu Folk Festival recognises and pays respect to the Kaurna People, who are the traditional owners of Willunga. We recognise their connection to land, waters and community and pay our respects to them, their cultures, and their Elders, past and present.   The Willunga Basin is named after the Kaurna place name, Willangga, which is a traditional Kaurna cultural landscape rich with the history of the Kaurna Meyunna, the Kaurna People
