innovative trail design + restructuring

FlatLand Resources was hired to re-design and build several sections of trails at Mounds State Park in Anderson. One of the main trails within the state park would flood and, over the course of the winter, collect several feet of ice that posed danger to year-round park goers. To mitigate this issue, we redesigned the path to redirect water runoff to flow down the hillsides and under an elevated trail. In the process of solving the issue with ice buildup this design widened the path along the river to accommodate more visitors and has helped slow erosion of the river bank.
